Are You Worth a Woman’s Sacrifice

Are you worth a woman’s sacrifice?

A woman sacrifices herself without asking for much in return.
She’ll stop what she is doing to listen, help or guide one in need.
A woman will feed you and your family, but forget to eat herself,
making sure you have enough.

Are you worth the sacrifice of a woman?

A woman will love you from her next breath to her last.
She’ll give you her time, her love and even her breath to see you reach your goal.

Are you worth a woman’s sacrifice?

A woman will go to the ends of the earth to see you smile
or even just around the corner to the local dive.
She’ll spend time with your friends, family and collegues
just to make you shine.

Are you worth a woman’s sacrifice?

A woman will be your end all and all she ask for is
that you love, cherish and show her that you care and are considerate of her.
Saying these things are easy,
but showing them and meaning it are several different beast.

A woman’s sacrifice is done without seeking recompense.
But she must feel you are worth it,
because then it won’t feel like a sacrificial burden.
It will all be done with love
and it won’t hurt or deplete our strength to love you and care for you.

So are you worth a woman’s sacrifice?

Hunger

Hunger for love, hunger for companionship,
hunger for friends and a family,
hunger for money and career,
hunger to provide for those around me.

Hunger for an education, hunger for excitment.
Hunger for a caress, a light masterful touch,
so many hungers that I don’t know which way to turn
or which one to answer to first.

My hunger is the craving of the yearning of my desires.
Sadly many of them revolve around you.
Ice, ice, ice, I try to make my hunger cool down.

Glaciers is what I should be surrounded by when you are around,
maybe then this hunger will lie frozen still.

All my basic hungers die down
to allow the burning roar of you to come through
and singe me at every turn.
Hunger, desire, craving are just looking to be fulfilled.

What hunger are you going to fulfill?

New Royalty

I might be descendants of African, Native American, Latin or European kings and queens,
But the last few generations have been mixed and forcefully produced, so I don’t know where I am from
What box should I check off black, brown, or white?
Should I bow my head in shame for not being a true Nubian queen or for not being a true Native of the Americas or for not being a true European Lady or for not being a Latin Reina
Why should I be made to bow down to theses differences that you think find me lacking
I am a smooth ample watered down caramel queen
Never has a queen bowed her head in shame for she lacks nothing and has it all at her feet

So I am a mixed up mixture I can’t and won’t cater to your silliness
I can claim any and all parts that make me this new shade of a queen in me
So sisters and brothers, hermanas y hermanos take me as I am
I am part of a new breed of queens I am proud of my mixture
I am a Nubian, Native, European and Latin queen I choose to embrace all of my uniqueness

I don’t have to love a Nubian king to show my African ness
I don’t have to love a Native king to show you my American ness
I don’t have to love a European king to show you my European ness
I don’t have to love a Latin king to show you my Latin ness
I don’t have to love one of those to be with my own kind for they all are mine

Don’t ask me to stay with my kind
For my kind is a strong loving dynamic man regardless of his outer trappings
Don’t ask me to better my race
For my race is the human race with a heart the size of the planet
Don’t ask me to settle
For I would be bored by such single mindedness
Don’t ask me to just love one kind of king
For I won’t choose from such a narrow field of choice

Don’t ask me to forget or ignore my mixture
For it is my mixture that has given me the sparkle in my eyes
For it is my mixture that has given me my succulent mouth
For it is my mixture that has given me my bountiful curves
For it is my mixture that has given me my sharp mind
For it is my mixture that has you worshipping at my altar
For it is my mixture that has you secretly wishing to understand all that I am
For it is my mixture that has you trying to become part of the new royalty
For it is my mixture that has you dazed, confused and afraid of what’s to come
For it is my mixture that has you trying to put me in a tiny box, but you can’t enclose all that makes me the new royalty

So embrace my mixture, leave the fear behind and I will embrace you within the new royalty

Rise Up

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!
Don’t let them tell you that you are less than

Citizens of my country what is wrong with some you
Are you so desperate to find a bug to squash
That you’ll trample a fellow brother or sister
That you forget that we all are immigrants
Only the Native American can claim purity of belonging to this land

Allow me to refresh your minds

You my Anglo-Saxon siblings fled to this land seeking freedom
I don’t recall the natives beating you, shooting at you to get you to leave,
or erected walls to keep you out or in your place.
In fact did they not welcome you & help you survive

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!

You my African Brothers were forced to leave your land
Forced to build up this new land
Have you forgotten the beatings, the lynchings, the degradation
And the dismissal of your forefathers as being niggardly people

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!

You my Mulatto Latinos some of which have been part of this country
since before the Mexican-American war
You too have forgotten the look of depreciation your forefathers received;
The land that was taken from them

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!

So why do you act a fool over these new immigrants.
You whose forefathers searched for freedom and a better quality of life
You who were frowned upon, because you did not speak the queens English
You who were forced to leave, but despite it all
You fought to be looked at and treated equally.

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!

Now all they have to say is “terror alert” and you lose your mind
You help him erect walls to keep these new niggardly searchers of freedom out
You help hunt hardworking people who do menial labor you no longer care for
You help him kill the family he so often speaks about preserving.
By allowing him to separate fathers and mothers from their children
or children from their families who went looking for a way to get a better education
By allowing him to send them off to fight foolish wars that only enrich their pockets.
Why are we allowing these fools to blind us with stupidity

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!

Now you all disassociate yourselves from the newly arrived
Even going as far as saying that they are stealing good American jobs
When was the last time you applied to wash dishes, clean toilets, and/or wait tables, for less than minimum wage.

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!

I recall that at the age of 16 I or my classmates
didn’t want or cared to work any of those jobs.
We who feel so entitled to that served silver platter
look down upon these jobs and those that do it
So how do we claim that our jobs are being stolen
when we don’t want those jobs.

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!

So why are you letting your judgment to be clouded by inconsistent smoke blowers
Be real and remember all that your forefathers went through to find freedom from all the mendacity that was thrown at them from day to day.

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!
Don’t let them tell you that you and yours are less than
Rise up and they will see that we are not gullible fools
Rise up and show them you are not mindless sheep that can be herded into a corner
Rise up and bring out the smoke eaters so that you may see clearly
Rise up and bring honor to your forefathers
Rise up and show them that we too know how to fight the good fight
Rise up and make your self be counted and heard

Immigrants and children of immigrants; Rise up!
Rise up! Rise up! Rise up!

4 Pleiades Poems

STAR
Sagittarius me.
Sustaining myself hot
Specify my rise
Shine to show the way
See me lie under you
Show me my fall
Stroke me to sleep

STAR
Sparkles within me.
Smiles at your joy
Saddened by your tear
Smothers not your being
Saturated love
Sun soaked caress
Supply my inner heat

STAR
Sulk when you hide
Simple but so complex
Sharp red white heat
Succulently kiss me
Stroke me softly
Strong internal heat
Shelter yourself in me

STAR
Shield me from all others
Sell me your stories
Service the galaxy
See me lie under you
Success within your arms
State your claim
Shatter my innner self

A Pleiades poem , invented in 1999, consists of seven lines of six syllables; each line starting with the same letter as the title. The title is a single word.

And as further challenge, our poem should reference to a celestial body in honor of the form inspired from a heavenly object.

A dVerse project.

My Pool of Tears

My pool of tears

How is it that you don't see them
Or am I that good of an actress

My shoes make that squeaky noise from the saturation of you my dear.

Could all the seas be a combination of several beings just crying til they were dried out and all that was left was a dried out trunk on the shores of life?

I wonder where does this much moisture comes from.

How does it flow perfectly down a single track down my façade?

By now an indented well traveled road should appear down my face.

My smile hides the pain that so dwells in my heart, down deep in my soul, within the confines of my marrow is an ache, so strong that it should be as visible as the rings on Saturnor as blinding as the sun.

Can't stand this indifference that has enveloped my existence.

No being desires to admire another from afar. It leaves them with the emptiest of feelings deep within.

No being should be subjected to the dripping pain of those embedded tears.

How do you open the door to love and then walk away from it?

How do you grant someone the highest of ecstasy and then leave them like the cold ashen trees of winter with no life?

No more will my tears leave pools behind to nourish your fishy scales.

For as easy as you walked away, so will I rise and sail away from this barren and desolate land.

Rise as high as the sun in the sky or farther yet into the next galaxy to find a love that won't be afraid to hold me, love me, or to rise like the Phoenix out of the ashes up into new life wrapped together in heated love.

No longer will my pool of tears exist.

One Perfect Day n Night

One perfect day n night with your eyes on me and mine on yours.
One perfect day n night with my hands roaming over your body.
One perfect day n night with your hands commanding my body.
One perfect day n night with my lips devouring yours as you devour mine.
One perfect day n night with my heart beating against yours.
One perfect day n night feeling you grow within my wetness.
One perfect day n night with you filling my senses.

But does that one perfect day n night with you exist anywhere other than in our dreams.
Or can we both forget that vow and give each other that one perfect day n night in each other's arms.
