We have shared under the cover of darkness
Many quenchable drinks, nourishable meals and delectable delights
We have walked down the avenues and across many streets
In our overcrowded fair island
We have talked about everything and nothing under the light of the moon.
Sparks fly as we walk side by side radiating warmth from within.
We have bared ourselves under the guidance of the stars,
Our souls, eyes, and hearts have communicated where nothing was left unhidden, but much is still desired.
We have tasted the essence of each other’s lips.
Grasped each other’s faces, examining the details we love and admire.
We have inspected, stroked, and stimulated each other’s chassis.
To different heights of blissful pleasure sometimes completely and other times just hovering over the edge.
We have indulged in the glorification of each other.
Until the colors of the dawn remind us that we must part to our separate dwelling.
The memory of our solace entertaining joyous merriment.
Will have to suffice until the next sunset hides all our sins in the darkness.
Why must the dawn bring to light the way we love.
My love for you is private and not meant to be viewed by a multitude of critics.
The dawn causes our melancholy and the appearance of troubled times.
Oh the orange-reddish hue of a new day causes me grief as I can’t love you until the call of the next evening.
Oh dawn let thy early light leave us be in the shadows to love each other without hesitation.
Oh rays of glowing light stay away I implore you, so I can stay in the embrace of my sweet love.
Stay away, stay away, stay away
An Aubade Poem is a love poem welcoming or lamenting the arrival of the dawn.
