Ink Me – Free Verse day 12 of April

Ink me on your heart
So it may last forever
In black ink it’ll be audacious and confident never shy or quiet
In color ink playful and bright never dull or meek
In white ink so only you and I will know

But never in invisible ink
So that all you will feel perchance is indifference that I took up residence in your heart
If you use invisible ink then kindly release your hold on me
So I can find another artist to complete the masterpiece in my heart and theirs

Ink me on your heart
So it may last forever
Don’t ink me on your body for show for there it is removable or can be covered up
Ink me on your heart
So it may last forever

Ink me if you love me,
Ink me if you desire me
Ink me if I’ll only be yours and you’ll only be mine.
Ink me,  ink me, ink me

  1. Oh we do wish we should be committed to that one and only.. so often we use that invisible ink.. maybe it require a mutuality.. 🙂

Another thing.. I noted that you linked up two poems, I will remove the other one, as we do not allow for poets to link up more than one at Open Link Night. If you write to a specific prompt we allow more than one linkup.

A very imaginative premise this, & excellently penned. As a baby boomer, I have never been a fan of Tatts, but I like your use of what might be impermanence, or deceit. It seems to be a cry for both honesty & fidelity; things given lip service after a relationship cools. Might have to borrow some of your concept, cuz it’s so cool.

  7. Gabriella says:

I like the way you express your love and desire.

  8. Abhra says:

Ink me on your heart – that is a one of the most beautiful metaphors I have ever heard. A great piece.

  9. What a fun metaphor for love. I love all the directions you took it.

  10. C.C. says:

Inking someone on your heart is so much more meaningful than inking someone on your skin….love this, the permanence to it, the commitment, the intimacy and the intensity 🙂
