A Man Comes Forward – Gender Bender dVerse Challenge

Here I sit in a cold sweat in all my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered, “I fell from weakness at the site of her ample beauty.”
But here I sit in a cold sweat in my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered, “I fell when I saw her tilt her head toward the speaker on her right”.
But here I sit in a cold sweat in my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered, “I fell when she played with her hair as she spoke to those around her”.
But here I sit in a cold sweat in my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered, “I fell when I wanted to glide my fingers over her blue velvet off the shoulder sweater and onto the span of exposed supple skin”.
But here I sit in a cold sweat in my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered, “I fell when I heard her roaring merriment”.
But here I sit in a cold sweat in my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered, “I fell when I saw the euphoria in her glee filled gaze”.
But here I sit in a cold sweat in my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered, “I fell when her sweet jovial smile lit a flame in me”.
But here I sit in a cold sweat in my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered, “I fell when someone turned up the thermostat on this frosty December eve”.
But here I sit in a cold sweat in my trembling manly self.

No man ever uttered these things, but despite the cold sweat and not feeling my knees I need to let you know that you captivated my thoughts, my heart, and my soul.

No man ever uttered this, but I’ll show you how I’ll love you for an eternity, how I’d rather spend Saturday night laying next you reading or holding you than out acting a fool with the boys.

No man ever uttered these things, but here before you I am trembling, sweating, and barely breathing in fear that you won’t have me.

So will you utter the words that will have mercy on me and make me stop sweating and trembling? Will you have me for your own?

A dVerse Challenge to write a poem from the perspective of the opposite sex. It sure was interesting.

Too true that folks are forced to conform to these silly out dated ideas. Wish every one would just stride to be happy with out hurting anyone else in the process. Thanks.
